Texas overcame a slow start to pick up a 35-13 win over Mississippi State on Saturday, earning its first SEC win as a member of the conference.

The No. 1 Longhorns led by just eight points at the half against arguably the worst team in the SEC, but looked like its dominant self in the second half to avoid a massive upset.

The win marked star quarterback Arch Manning's second start with veteran Quinn Ewers still dealing with an abdominal strain, and the redshirt freshman once against delivered. He had 324 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns, adding 33 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
