When Ole Miss junior cornerback Ken Webster went down with a leg injury against Florida State on Monday, the Ole Miss secondary took a major hit. Webster was the Rebels’ top cover corner, and while there is still talent on the back end of the Ole Miss defense, it is very young.
FSU redshirt freshman quarterback, Deondre Francois, exposed the inexperienced secondary and finished the night with 419 passing yards and two touchdowns.
While there are no guarantees in recruiting, Ole Miss will still look to find new talent among the high school and junior college ranks to help add play makers and depth to a defense that already has a very stout front seven.
