The curious case of Victor Rodriguez’s recovery from a knee injury took another turn on Tuesday when the Seattle Sounders midfielder underwent right knee arthroscopy. Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer first mentioned the procedure following Wednesday’s training session and the team made a formal announcement on Thursday.
Rodriguez has already begun rehabilitation and could be as close as two to three weeks away from returning.
Of course, it has seemed Rodriguez is nearing a return for months. After spending most of the preseason rehabilitating from an injury, Rodriguez told reporters he was expecting to be available for the MLS regular-season opener on March 4.
