Although Gustav Svensson appears to be fully back from his injury, the Seattle Sounders will still be without two key contributors for Saturday’s match against the LA Galaxy. Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer ruled out both Victor Rodriguez and Brad Smith following Friday’s training session.
“I hope to have both of them back for Portland,” Schmetzer said. The Sounders visit the Portland Timbers on Aug. 23 in what is shaping up as a very important match.
Rodriguez appeared to be close to making a return after being a full participant in training most of last week, and he was healthy enough to make the gameday roster against the New England Revolution.
