Tyrone Mears' green card means two open international spots

Now that Tyrone Mears is a permanent resident of the USA (holds a green card) the Seattle Sounders have two international spots open. The club also has roster space for two signings of any kind, as well as space for another Designated Player.

Today's announcement means that the following players are considered internationals - Oalex Anderson, Oniel Fisher, Erik Friberg, Andreas Ivanschitz, Joevin Jones, Román Torres and Nelson Haedo Valdez.

The team acquired an international slot and targeted allocation money from Toronto FC in early March.
