The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database was updated today with the first hints for Reign FC fans about the new branding of the team for the 2020 season. The listings, which were filed on Jan. 27 and published to the database overnight, are for “OL Reign” and feature a badge with a stylized lion beneath the name of the team in a font similar to the old Reign FC font, all surrounded by a shield that mirrors the original Seattle Reign FC design.

Trademark entries are traditionally submitted in black and white, so this gives us no indication of whether the team colors will be changing, and if so, what colors they will change to.
