TUKWILA, Wash. — Nicolas Lodeiro was not training with his Seattle Sounders teammates on Monday despite not being named to Uruguay’s World Cup roster over the weekend. Head coach Brian Schmetzer said the timeline for Lodeiro’s return was not yet set. Lodeiro has missed Seattle’s last six matches while recovering from a broken toe and attempting to make Uruguay’s squad.
Schmetzer said the club was still working with the Uruguayan Football Association to coordinate Lodeiro’s release.
“We are working on a timeline,” Schmetzer said. “We have been in contact with him. They have a game on Thursday down in Uruguay.
