Tacoma Defiance have added a third centerback to their roster. Taylor Mueller, a 31-year-old Kirkland native, has joined the team after spending the past eight seasons playing for the Charleston Battery in the USL Championship.
Mueller played for the University of Washington during college, earning Defensive MVP as a senior in 2010. He started his post-college career when the Portland Timbers selected Mueller with the second pick of the third round, the 38th overall pick, in the 2011 MLS Supplemental Draft. Mueller wouldn’t play a single game for Portland, instead playing for Washington Crossfire in the USL PDL during 2011.
