SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – Tacoma Defiance (2-4-1, 7 points) fell 3-1 to Sacramento Republic FC (4-1-3, 15 points) on Saturday evening at Papa Murphy’s Park. Sam Rogers scored the lone goal for Tacoma, who lost its second consecutive match following a three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1) after the league’s restart. Defiance currently sits eight points back of Sacramento and Reno in the standings for Group A, the four-team group created after USL’s resumption of play following the COVID-19 shutdown.
SRFC scored all three of its goals in the opening 45 minutes, including a brace from Dariusz Formella in the 14th and 41st minutes.
