After four months off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Seattle Sounders return to the field for their MLS is Back Tournament opener against the San Jose Earthquakes on Friday. The Sounders went 1-0-1 in their first two games of the MLS regular season, while the Earthquakes went 0-1-1, but those records don’t seem to mean much at this point.
Perhaps the more relevant information is what kind of shape the teams will be in. The Earthquakes were the last team in MLS to return to full training, but they were also the first team to arrive in the Disney World “bubble” and have now been there for more than two weeks.
