The Seattle Sounders had a chance to take the top spot in the Western Conference when they hosted the Portland Timbers Sunday night. After the 2-1 defeat, the Sounders still remain one spot out of first.
Seattle had plenty of chances late in the first half to go into the break with a lead but the goal never came. They now have four days until they hit the pitch again when they host the San Jose Earthquakes.
