The Seattle Sounders hosted the San Jose Earthquakes in the Round of 32 of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday. The match at Starfire Sports Complex saw yet another Open Cup campaign end in pain, and all too early, as it took a full 120 minutes and penalties after the game finished tied 2-2 before the Earthquakes eventually won the shoot-out 10-9.
The game seemed like it might be painful, but at least over fast after the Earthquakes opened the scoring in the 10th minute thanks to a penalty called on AB Cissoko and scored by Jackson Skahan.
