SOUNDERS 2, RAPIDS 0: After a solid five-minute stretch to open the second half that put the Sounders under a fair amount of pressure, Seattle stormed back into control when Kelyn Acosta took down Nicolas Lodeiro just inside the penalty area. Lodeiro then stepped up and converted his eighth goal of the season, despite Tim Howard guessing correctly.
SOUNDERS 1, RAPIDS 0: Raúl Ruidíaz got the Sounders off to a strong start, scoring in the 22nd minute off a pass from Nicolas Lodeiro. It was Ruidíaz’s sixth Sounders goal and Lodeiro’s 10th assist of the season.
