Sounders coach Sigi Schmid was uncharacteristically blunt in his post-match press conference when explaining why he’d chosen to go with Dylan Remick at left back instead of usual starter Joevin Jones for the team’s 2-1 win over Philadelphia last Saturday.
“I wanted more out of Joevin last week (against Houston) than I got,” Schmid said.
Following practice on Wednesday at Starfire Sports Complex, Schmid explained in greater depth what exactly he’s looking for, though it remains unclear whether Remick or Jones will get the nod this weekend at Colorado.
“I think (Jones) has got a great set of tools,” Schmid said.
