Sounders defender Chad Marshall has not watched any replays from Seattle’s 2-1 loss to the Whitecaps on Saturday night at CenturyLink Field, “because I was frustrated and trying to put it behind me.”
But he can still see the play that led to Vancouver’s second penalty kick in his mind’s eye, discussing the collision with Whitecaps forward Blas Perez on Tuesday for the first time publicly.
“They play a ball over the top, it’s a footrace with Perez,” Marshall said. “I go to ground there, and I think without the contact initiated by him, that I get to the ball.
