Sounders forward Jordan Morris and Aaron Kovar have been named to the 2016 MLS Homegrown Team by coach Landon Donovan, the former U.S. national team forward announced Tuesday via Facebook Live.
The Homegrowns will take on the Mexican U-20 national team on July 27 at San Jose’s Avaya Stadium, a showcase for some of the league’s best young players as part of MLS All-Star Game weekend. The roster is limited to players who have come through league-affiliated youth development systems — some of which had more of a hands-on role than others — and signed Homegrown Player contracts.
