Sounders center back Chad Marshall was removed from Toronto match because of migraine headache

Sounders center back Chad Marshall was removed in the 51st minute of their 1-1 draw at Toronto on Saturday night, heading straight down a BMO Field tunnel with slumped shoulders. But though he sustained a blow to the head earlier in the game, his injury was not as serious as initially feared.

“He had a migraine headache,” Seattle coach Sigi Schmid told reporters after the match. “It wasn’t a concussion, although when he went down he got a slight knee to the head in the first half.

“He just got a headache where he became very light-sensitive.
