A slogging chess match for most of the game, the Seattle Sounders were given the opportunity to play 11 v. 10 for the final few minutes when Jelle Van Damme cleared through Nicolas Lodeiro. It was Van Damme’s second yellow of the night. Seattle could not take advantage of the weakened LA Galaxy, though, and settled for a 0-0 draw. It did allow them to extend their unbeaten streak to six games and move to even on points with fourth-place Portland.
The Sounders’ best chance to find the winner came in the 70th minute when Nicolas Lodeiro put Will Bruin into the right channel.
