CARSON, Calif. — The Seattle Sounders conceded three late goals within 11 minutes and suffered a 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals Wednesday night in front of 3,409 at the StubHub Center’s track-and-field stadium.
Mexican international Giovani Dos Santos tied the score in the 77th minute, three minutes after replacing forward Mike Magee. Sebastian Lletget followed with goals in the 85th and 88th minutes to send Los Angeles into the semifinals against FC Dallas on Aug. 10.
Sounders forward Aaron Kovar left the game in the 66th minute after colliding with a teammate while marking Emmanuel Boateng.
