There were several key names missing from the Seattle Sounders Concacaf Champions League roster that was released on Saturday (click for all the rosters). But before reading too much into the absence of recent signing Yeimar Gomez Andrade, it’s important to note that names can be added to the roster up until 44 hours before any game’s scheduled kickoff. The Sounders’ first game is on Thursday against CD Olimpia in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
The most likely explanation for the Sounders’ having only 21 players filling their 35-man roster limit is that it was submitted before Gómez Andrade’s paperwork was finalized.
