A few weeks ago, the Seattle Sounders played lousy in Vancouver and I said I wasn’t worried. Well, having a depleted Toronto FC team come into CenturyLink Field and leave with all three points is very troubling. The 0-1 score line actually understates how ineffective Seattle has been against compact teams. Opponents plan to bunker, get a counter or cheap PK, etc., and then pack it in and watch an uncreative Sounders attack blunder repeatedly into the parked bus. They count on Seattle’s inability to break down a team via hopeful crosses or deal with consistent fouling.
