In a chippy, rain-soaked match at Rio Tinto Stadium, the Seattle Sounders again failed to put the ball in the back of the net. This time, though, the back line didn’t hold strong, giving up two second-half goals in quick succession as Real Salt Lake took advantage of the Sounders’ aggressive push upfield to attempt to generate chances. RSL then packed it in to cement their 2-0 victory, and the Sounders’ record unbeaten streak ends unceremoniously.
Seattle are now 11-8-11, with a +5 GD. They have 44 points through 30 played, or 1.47 PPG, which is currently good for fourth in the Western Conference.
