Seattle Sounder FC pulled out a 1-0 victory at home that finally made good on one of the games in hand that they've had over their Western Conference foes for some time. Chad Marshall scored his fourth of the season. No it wasn't the perfect match, but Coach Brian Schmetzer and the players know that, playing on two days rest, they just had to do what it took to get the three points.
Seattle have hauled themselves into playoff position after many had counted them out. They are 12-13-5, 0 on goal difference. That's good for 41 points and 6th in the West.
