KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An offensive onslaught erased an early deficit as the Seattle Sounders Academy U-17 team claimed a 5-1 victory Tuesday over Atlanta United in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy title game.
Atlanta, the defending U-17 national champion, took a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute. The Sounders then broke through in the 40th minute when Ray Serrano scored the first of his two goals. Alec Diaz then gave Seattle the lead for good right before halftime with his goal.
After Serrano scored in the 64th minute for a 3-1 lead, Azriel Gonzalez and Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez added late goals for the Sounders.
