The Seattle Sounders selected Creighton midfielder Joel Rydstrand on Friday with the 20th pick of the second round (44th overall) of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.
Rydstrand, 23, is a native of Almunge, Sweden, and played within the IK Sirius organization. He finished his college career with seven goals and 23 assists in 68 matches and was the 2018 Big East Midfielder of the Year.
The Sounders selected U.S. Air Force Academy midfielder Tucker Bone with their first selection in the first round.
