The Copa America is coming to town shortly and everybody is looking forward to it. The MLS is even taking a break so that we don’t have to worry about weakened teams being forced upon coaches and spectators alike, right?
Wrong. Although it is true that MLS will be suspended for the Group Stage, what the US National team failed to highlight was that they are due to play three friendlies prior to the tournament, indicating that they will field full strength sides in at least two.
The impact for the Sounders is that they are likely to be without Clint Dempsey, Brad Evans and Jordan Morris for at least the game against New England Revolution on the 28th May, possibly the DC United game a few days later as well.
