VANCOUVER — The Cascadia Cup is coming home.
The Seattle Sounders defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 at BC Place on Saturday evening to extend their MLS-record winning streak to nine matches and capture the Cascadia Cup for the first time since 2015. Raúl Ruidíaz had a first-half brace, and the Sounders withstood a flurry of Whitecaps attacks to advance to fifth place in the Western Conference standings with a match in hand.
“I absolutely love that group of people that came here, and all the fans in Seattle I shouldn’t cut you guys short,” said Head Coach Brian Schmetzer.
