The worst-kept secret in the greater Puget Sound is out.
The Seattle Sounders officially unveiled Mercer Island native Jordan Morris as their newest Homegrown Player signing on Thursday morning at the team’s clubhouse in Pioneer Square.
The 21-year-old reigning Hermann Trophy winner and U.S. national team member was presented at the Ninety to much fanfare alongside Sounders owner Adrian Hanauer, general manager Garth Lagerwey, coach Sigi Schmid and sporting director Chris Henderson. The announcement brings to an end a years-long pursuit and provides the high point to an offseason that officially ends Friday with the beginning of training camp.
