Seattle Sounders midfielder Aaron Kovar suffered an apparent fractured clavicle during the team's U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal match against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday night, potentially putting the Homegrown youngster on the shelf for the near future as he recovers from the injury.
Kovar collided with Sounders defender Oniel Fisher in the 63rd minute of the match in Carson, Calif., and was attended to by medical staff before he walked off the field in visible pain. Head coach Sigi Schmid speculated following the match that Kovar had broken his collarbone, and Kovar confirmed that diagnosis via his personal Twitter feed on Thursday morning.
