Forward Darwin Jones tallied his second and third goals of the season on Saturday night as Seattle Sounders FC 2 came away with the 3-2 victory at Arizona United SC.
Jones opened the scoring in the 25th minute when a picture-perfect through ball from midfielder Zach Mathers sprung him free on right flank. Jones charged into the box and blasted the shot near post past goalkeeper Jordan Stagmiller.
United then came roaring back with two back-to-back goals of their own in the 29th and 35th minutes. The first goal was a powerful and precise long distance rocket from forward Chris Cortez, who caused problems for S2 with two goals in the teams' first match in Seattle on March 30.
