Seattle Sounders postseason hero Román Torres signed a contract with expansion side Inter Miami on Sunday as a free agent. Torres, 33, had spent the past five seasons with Seattle. A big-bodied defender with a knack for shining in clutch moments, Torres won two MLS Cups with the Rave Green and scored the decisive penalty kick to give the Sounders their first Cup in 2016.
The Panama native signed with the Sounders in August 2015, making just four appearances before suffering a season-ending ACL injury. He returned the following September and helped the Sounders achieve one of the greatest turnarounds in league history en route to the 2016 title.
