Just last week I wrote about the adjustment to the NWSL’s second transfer window and their current depth chart. At that time the Seattle Reign has used all of their allocated international spots. Thus the re-signing of international forward Nahomi Kawasumi, who played with the club in 2014 while on loan from INAC Kobe Leonessa.
NWSL and club policy is to no comment on the terms of the deal. However, it will be interesting to see if another league club traded an international roster spot to the Reign in order to acquire Homi. The other, more interesting, option is that the NWSL has modified league rules during the middle of the season to give teams additional international roster positions.
