Seattle Reign FC has acquired forward Darian Jenkins in a trade with the North Carolina Courage. In return, Seattle sent the Courage the 9th overall pick in the 2019 NWSL College Draft.
Jenkins, 23, is a graduate of UCLA, where she scored 29 goals in 76 appearances for the Bruins. Her college career was cut short when she fractured her fibula in a brutal injury toward the end of her senior season. At the time, Jenkins was leading the Pac-12 with seven goals, five game-winning goals, and 17 points. She was drafted by North Carolina in 2017 with the 7th overall pick, but missed that season recovering from the leg fracture.
