When the Seattle Sounders declined Román Torres’ option on Wednesday, it seemed likely that he would not suit up for the Rave Green again even after GM Garth Lagerwey expressed optimism at bringing him back.
On Thursday, he put any hope to rest by announcing via social media that the 2019 season would be his last with the Sounders.
“Dear Sounders Family,
It is with great sadness that I write these words to inform you that this was my last season as a Seattle Sounders Player.
I want to thank the Sounders organization for giving me the opportunity to join this team in 2015, and most of all, for making me feel part of this family since the first moment me and my family arrived at the United States.
