Rave Green close out first round of training camp with scrimmage against Loyola Marymount University

SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC closed out its first stint of training camp in Southern California with a closed-door scrimmage against Loyola Marymount University on Wednesday morning, with a focus on putting preseason concepts to practice against an opponent. The Rave Green and Lions played 105 minutes, with a lineup change at 60 minutes to allow young Seattle players a full 45 minutes of action after the more veteran lineup played 60 minutes for fitness.

Seattle dominated possession and dictated tempo early, and with Shandon Hopeau and Raúl Ruidíaz combining for the opening score in the 14th minute, as Hopeau picked up a loose ball and fed Ruidíaz for a finish from inside the area.
