TUKWILA, Wash. — The Seattle Sounders continued their training at Starfire on Friday as they prepare to take on Atlanta United in a high-profile match Sunday at CenturyLink Field, and for the first time in what seems like forever, coach Brian Schmetzer is a bit spoiled for choice.
With the exception of Will Bruin (season-ending ACL surgery) and Victor Rodriguez (hamstring strain), Schmetzer should have his full complement of players to choose from, and the competition at training hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“If you were just watching what they were doing, they were competing,” Schmetzer said.
