Police are investigating how MLS player Marco Pappa was stabbed in the stomach last month.
The Seattle Sounders traded Pappa to the Colorado Rapids for allocation money on Dec. 15. It was not immediately clear when the stabbing took place.
Seattle TV station King 5, which first reported the incident, said Pappa was taken to a Seattle hospital after police found him bleeding.
Police told ABC News they are investigating the incident but no charges have been filed.
"We are aware of the situation and have notified Major League Soccer," the Rapids said in a statement to ABC News.
