BALTIMORE – Sounders FC added some defensive depth at the MLS SuperDraft on Thursday in the form of Tony Alfaro, a left-footed center back out of Division II Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Sounders used the seventh pick in the second round (27th overall) to grab Alfaro, who was named an All-American by the NSCAA (1st Team) and Division II CCA (2nd Team) during his senior year. He started 21 games during his final year on campus and was named the California College Athletic Association’s Defensive Player of the Year.
At 27, Seattle drafts Tony Alfaro from CSU-Dominguez Hills.
