The 2021 kit for the team that wins Saturday’s MLS Cup final is going to look a little different than in years past, after MLS announced updates to the honorifics received by Cup-winning clubs.
Most prominently, the league is returning to a type of scudetto. The Cup-winning team will now wear a commemorative silver MLS crest with the MLS Cup logo on the sleeve of their kits during the following season. The last time MLS used a scudetto was from 2006-2011. The silver MLS crest will be available on the winning team’s 2020 kits at the MLS store soon after the final whistle on Saturday, and if you’ve already purchased a 2020 kit you will be able to have a silver patch added locally, with details to come from the winning team after the match.
