After taking the 2020 NWSL season off due to COVID-19 concerns, Megan Rapinoe looks fresh and ready to go in 2021. Following two friendlies against Colombia in January, the OL Reign forward made her first tournament appearance of the year with the U.S. Women’s National Team, featuring in all three matches during the SheBelieves Cup.
Rapinoe scored three goals — two against Argentina and one in a sub appearance against Brazil, which resulted in a sweet celebration dedicated to Sloane, the newly adopted daughter of Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger.
Rapinoe’s two goals against Argentina were well taken and she was full of energy in her 60-minute appearance — pinching in to play as a withdrawn forward at times and showing a commitment to pressing throughout the match.
