LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Captain Ray Saari scored his first goal of the season, but S2 suffered a 4-1 road loss on Saturday in its first-ever game against Las Vegas Lights FC. Seattle fell to 3-8-2 this season, including 0-4-2 on the road, while Las Vegas improved to 4-5-4 overall.
Saari made a clever run inside the area in first-half stoppage time and slipped the ball past the outstretched arms of Las Vegas goalkeeper Angel Alvarez for Seattle’s only goal of the evening. The tally gave S2 some momentum heading into halftime, but former Sounder Zach Mathers scored in the 49th minute for Lights FC to put the game out of reach, 4-1.
