Both players removed from Re-Entry Draft.
Although the Seattle Sounders chose not to make any selections in Stage 1 of the Re-Entry Draft on Friday, they were still somewhat active. Shortly before the start of the draft, Zach Scott and Marco Pappa were removed from the list of eligible players. From all appearances, they were removed for different reasons.
Scott appears to have made the choice to remove himself from the draft, meaning his MLS rights are still controlled by the Sounders. There's a chance this means he's going to try to work out a new contract with the Sounders, although that seems somewhat unlikely given that he was basically making the veteran minimum.
