For US Soccer to improve, MLS may need to change drastically in order to help out. One suggestion is to remove the entry barriers, namely how HGPs work and ending the draft.

Those rule changes may not be on the docket yet, but allowing teams to keep all their proceeds in HGP sales and an increase in GAM for teams from all transfers should help clubs going forward.
