Major League Soccer Monday rewind: Columbus blew a three-goal lead, and that was just the beginning

Columbus’ Saturday night had been a season-defining kind of awful even before Kei Kamara proceeded to vent two months of frustration into a row of live voice recorders.

The Crew coughed up a three-goal, second-half lead against Montreal, Dominic Oduro tying the score at 4-4 late in stoppage time. Columbus publicly retched in front of its home crowd, and was hailed by a spattering of boos as players trudged off the field. Perhaps most painfully of all, the Impact again showcased its progression since losing to the Crew in last season’s Eastern Conference finals while Columbus has only regressed.
