That Harry Shipp was left exposed by the Seattle Sounders for Tuesday’s MLS Expansion Draft probably should not have come as a big surprise. The veteran midfielder only played in two of the Sounders’ last nine matches and didn’t get a single minute of playing time during the playoffs despite a reasonably productive season.
It also shouldn’t be surprising if he’s picked in the expansion draft. Shipp, 28, is coming off one of his best seasons after scoring five goals with three assists in just under 1,400 minutes while making a little less than $250,000.
