Gustav Svensson will almost certainly miss Friday’s scheduled match against Los Angeles FC, Seattle Sounders GM and President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey said on Tuesday. Svensson has already missed the Sounders’ past three games after joining Sweden for their recent UEFA Nations League games. Although Svensson only played a total of 44 minutes and returned to the United States on Sept. 8, he is currently under a mandated 10-day quarantine.
Theoretically, that quarantine will end on Friday, but since Svensson has not been able to train with the team in the meantime, it’s highly unlikely he’d feature in the match.
