It would be silly to suggest the Seattle Sounders are in a genuine slump right now after losing two of their last three games. But this is probably the worst stretch of results they’ve endured in a season in which they’ve spent most of it leading the Supporters’ Shield race. In addition to those two losses, the Sounders are 2-2-2 in their past six overall and 2-1-3 in their last six at home, despite just two of those opponents being in playoff position.
The San Jose Earthquakes represent a good opportunity to get things heading back in the right direction.
