Five Seattle Sounders Academy products were named to three different United States youth national teams on Friday. Only FC Dallas (six) had more players named to the various teams and the Philadelphia Union were the only other team with as many as five. All three teams will be training together from Jan. 4-13 in Florida, with three matches scheduled amongst each other.
Headlining the list of Sounders players are three who are already signed to professional contracts with S2: Sam Rogers (U-20), Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez (U-17) and Ray Serrano (U-17). Sam Fowler (U-19) and Blake Malone (U-19) have also played for S2 as Academy players, but have not signed professional contracts.
