Erik Friberg could be ready to play again as soon as Sunday. Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer officially deemed his midfielder "day-to-day" and said he might be training as early as Thursday.
That should all be seen as a minor miracle after Friberg was involved in one of the scariest moments of the season in last Sunday’s 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake.
With the game already past the three minutes of previously announced stoppage time, Friberg raced up the field on a potential breakaway. RSL center back Justen Glad was intent on not letting that happen and put in a tackle that sent Friberg flipping heels over head.
