Cristian Roldan and Jordan Morris have both been named to the United States’ 28-man training roster ahead of the Gold Cup. The roster must still be cut to 23 players by the June 5 deadline. A group of 11 players — mostly based in Europe — had already begun training this week. Both players will almost certainly miss the Sounders’ next match on June 5 against the Montreal Impact, which will leave the Sounders extremely short-handed.
Roldan seems like a solid bet to be named to that final roster, while Morris seems like a bit more of a long shot.
